Starting with her first solo exhibition in 2004, Ho Thi Xuan Thu has held many solo and group exhibitions in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue. She is a member of the Fine Arts Association of Vietnam, a member of the Fine Art Association of Ho Chi Minh City, and a member of the Gia Lai Province Culture and Artists Associations.
The Exhibition
The exhibition asks viewers to see lacquer's luminous surfaces as sites of encounter: between teacher and student, heritage and transformation, cultural specificity and human feeling. In doing so, the exhibition offers a visual meditation on Vietnamese women's lives in times of social and cultural transition, while introducing contemporary audiences to the depth, discipline, and expressive power of Vietnamese lacquer art.
Mai Thi Kim Uyen participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout Vietnam and held two solo exhibitions in Ho Chi Minh City: Capricious Girls in 2023 and Stars in the Night in 2025. She is a member of the Fine Arts Association of Vietnam, and a member of the Fine Art Association of Ho Chi Minh City.
